At last! Seems I'd been looking in the wrong place for the one at Ferry Meadows. Right tree, wrong bit. Still should have noticed it before though. My only excuse is incompetence.

Little Egret
Rode to Newborough Fen this lunchtime to be greeted with the lowest diversity of birds I can remember seeing here. Targets would be Grey Partridge (didn't even see a Red-leg), Corn Bunting (no buntings at all), Stonechat (nope) and Little Egret (no herons at all). The hotspot along Drain Road failed to even produce Grey Wagtail or Green Sandpiper. However on leaving there was a Little Egret feeding distantly in the Car Dyke south of Gunthorpe Road.

Redshank
Took a ride to the tip today, which was total free of gulls but did have a Red Kite flying nearby. So decided to return via the north Bank. 7 Redshank and a Green Sandpiper at the Sewage Works was about all I had to show for it.
